JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant || Full-Time
EXEMPT: No
LOCATION: 235 Montgomery Street, Suite 760, San Francisco, CA 94104 with partial work-from-home options.
REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff
SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant serves in a direct support role to the Chief of Staff. The Admin Assistant is responsible for the Chamber’s Executive office and clerical duties as needed. This role will assist in the coordination of program operations and special projects within the Executive Office, under the supervision of COS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in coordination and planning of board-related events including, but not limited to: Committee meetings and Board meetings.
- Preparing meeting agenda and minutes
- Maintaining tracking sheets for contracts, POs, expense reports, and invoices.
- Respond on the Chief of Staff’s behalf as needed; act as a point of contact among executives, employees, clients, and other external partners.
- Assist the Chief of Staff in managing the President CEO’s calendar of various activities and meetings.
- Maintain a spreadsheet of data, trackers, and contacts
- Uphold and carry out company office policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff.

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) in a related field or equivalent experience, including internships.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with strong attention to detail.

- Outstanding communicator both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and social media web platforms.
- Must be able to work flexible hours (evenings and early mornings), as needed.
- Physical: Must be able to sit and work comfortably at a desk station for extended time periods.

COMPENSATION: Compensation commensurate with experience. The Chamber also provides a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) compensation program with employer matching (subject to annual Board of Directors’ approval). This position enjoys 11 paid holidays, plus two floating holidays per year, up to 10 days vacation on an accrual basis per year (increases after 3 years of employment), and up to 12 days Sick. Salary range $40k-$60k/annual - based on experience.

JOB TITLE: Director, Marketing & Events

REPORTS TO: President & CEO
SUMMARY: The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, hardworking director-level producer and planner to oversee Marketing, Events, and Programs. The Director, Marketing & Events oversees a team of talented events and marketing specialists. This position is responsible for developing and executing the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce’s marketing, content, and communications efforts. He or she will collaborate with all departments and key stakeholders to produce creative strategies and materials that convey the SF Chamber’s authentic brand, enhance member engagement, and raise the visibility of the SF Chamber as the largest and most influential business organization in San Francisco. This position will also oversee, conceptualize and execute the organization’s programs and signature events to create an impactful and relevant platform for our members that ultimately drives participation and revenue for the organization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 10‐15 years of event management and marketing experience.
• Demonstrated management of project timelines and exceptional organizational skills
• Must be able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‐paced and cross‐functional team environment.
• Ability to work/attend events after hours.
• Knowledge of San Francisco business and political community a plus.
• Excellent business writing and verbal skills required.
• Customer relationship management database experience a plus.
• Comfortable with MS Word, Excel, Slack, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with mailmerge executions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Entrepreneurial problem solver exuding a high degree of professionalism and the ability to manage priorities to deliver high quality results. Existing relationships with external and internal Bay Area partners is important. Must be able to work occasional flexible hours programs and events.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $95k-$130k/year; Compensation commensurate with experience. The Chamber also provides a generous benefits package including: Hybrid work options, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and 401(k) compensation program with employer matching (subject to annual Board of Directors’ approval).
This position enjoys 11 paid holidays, two floating holidays per year, and up to 15 days’ Vacation on an accrual basis per year (increases after 3 years’ employment), and up to 12 days Sick time.

JOB TITLE: Executive Director, Center for Economic Development

Primary Focus
Provides overall leadership, direction, guidance, and management of the functions, operations, programs, activities, resources, and staff of the Division of Economic Development. Interacts with the business, education, entrepreneurial, real estate, site selection, and development communities and develops relationships in order to recognize their immediate needs, future plans and to seek opportunities to retain, expand, attract, and create new jobs and develop the workforce. Identifies opportunities for the City to address problems/issues and deliver responsive programs and services. Leads economic development negotiation agreements, implements economic growth plans for the City, guides businesses with the use of Federal, State, and local assistance programs, and represents the City at highly visible functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Functions
- Directs and promotes economic development initiatives to achieve the goals and objectives outlined by the Economic Development Strategic Plan.
- Directs, plans, manages, and evaluates all services and activities of the Center for Economic Development including attracting increased capital investments and expanding and diversifying employment opportunities; establishes and maintains a partnership for positive long-term economic change.
- Develops and institutionalizes strong working relationships with the general public, area businesses, clients, the media, real estate community, and schools; leads the effort, in partnership with the various business associations, to identify areas of concern in the promotion of business location and expansion for San Francisco.
- Directs the implementation of marketing strategies and business attraction programs; develops and manages advertising programs; seeks out, develops, and administers commercial and industrial prospects for business within San Francisco.
- Represents the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Economic Development to the Mayor, Board of Supervisors, boards, commissions, civic groups, businesses, individuals, and the general public on economic development issues, programs, services, and plans.
- Develops and leads the administration of the CED budget; ensures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, and materials.
- Develops and implements short and long-range economic development strategies; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations.
- Develops and implements International Programs and maintains relationship with Consulate Generals Offices and International businesses who currently have presences in San Francisco. In addition, working with International Offices to attract businesses and organizations to San Francisco.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Economic Development, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or another relevant field (Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Economic Development, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or other relevant field preferred) and extensive professional/managerial experience in a relevant capacity (preferably local gov't level)
- Thorough knowledge of marketing and communication concepts, principles, and strategies and the ability to translate these concepts, principles, and strategies into meaningful action
- Thorough knowledge of economic development programs, grants, loans, and services available at the State and county level
- Thorough knowledge of budgeting practices, methods, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of management principles, concepts, and practices
- Thorough knowledge of municipal government structure and processes
- Considerable knowledge of team-oriented, collaborative, participatory leadership concepts, principles, practices, and methods
- Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented organizational culture marked by high expectation levels, deadlines, time constraints, and the accompanying pressures inherent to such an environment

Physical Requirements
- Ability to move about the inside of an office space to access file cabinets and office equipment
- Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a copier, fax machine, mobile device, shredder, scanner, etc
- Must be able to remain in stationary position at workstation throughout scheduled workday
- Ability to exchange information with co-workers and citizens through use of email system, the telephone, and in-person interactions
- Ability to move objects weighing over 20 lbs. with the help of equipment/devices, on an infrequent basis
- Ability to enter data into computer system in a sustained manner
