As the leading advocate for business in the city, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce fully supports Mayor Ed Lee and opposes the current recall effort. Our city, like many cities across the country, has experienced a great number of challenges. But under the effective leadership of the Mayor and his collaborative approach and calm resolve, we’ve also had a significant number of successes. In recent years we’ve seen unprecedented economic growth and record low unemployment. Now is not the time to be divisive, but to come together to tackle the challenges facing San Francisco. Our Mayor was re-elected eight months ago, and this recall is a waste of taxpayer dollars and a distraction from what we should be doing – and what the Mayor has clearly stated as his priorities – solving our homelessness issue, building more housing, reforming law enforcement and continuing to grow our economy.
