Public Policy Forum: California High-Speed Rail Authority’s 2020 Business Plan

March 2, 2021 | 10 – 11 AM | ZOOM

On March 2, 2021, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a virtual presentation by California High-Speed Rail Authority. The Northern California Regional Director, Boris Lipkin, will be presenting on topics in the 2020 Business Plan.

Every two years the Authority submits a business plan to the legislature that describes the project progress and status as well as the path forward for delivering the first high-speed rail system in the United States. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s (Authority) 2020 Business Plan was postponed and will be delivered to the legislature in April 2021. The Authority will additionally assess any impacts to project delivery from COVID-19. The document will also highlight the tremendous progress being made in the Central Valley with over 30 active construction sites, over 5,000 construction jobs created, and over 500 small businesses working to deliver this megaproject. And in Northern California, the Authority successfully circulated two draft environmental documents, a huge milestone, bringing the Authority within arm’s reach of environmentally clearing the rest of the statewide system by 2022.
