What is Care Indeed’s history in the San Francisco Bay Area?
We started the company almost six years ago to empower caregivers to put the clients at the center of their care equation and make sure each one gets an individualized plan. We are currently in Menlo Park, San Jose, Walnut Creek, Lamorinda and Palo Alto, and now are expanding to San Francisco. We have a great location close to UCSF.

ci-logo4 Tell us something most people don’t know about Care Indeed?
Our company is about empowering caregivers. Every time they come to the office they feel like it’s a family, like their second home. We’ve become caregivers ourselves in challenging cases if they’re hard to staff. We’re very hands on and we want to make sure our clients receive the special care that they deserve.

What do you like best about your role as VP & COO for Patient Care?
My role is about people. I’m the troubleshooter. Any time there are concerns, I’m the person who handles the situation. My role is to make sure clients and caregivers are happy and satisfied and stay with us long term.

Unfortunately, home care as a business is for people who can afford it. Most of our clients really want to stay at home, and there’s a huge demand. Care Indeed provides non-medical care that’s designed to meet the needs of families requiring personalized care that’s cost-effective – we accept all major long-term care insurance and process all claims for all our clients.

How has being a SF Chamber member helped your business or organization?
Being a member of the San Francisco Chamber has helped us a lot. Just from the orientation, we have made a lot of really great connections. Our business is all about referrals and connections.

What is your key to success and why or how has San Francisco been a factor in that?
We are very passionate about what we’re doing, and that passion and commitment is what drives us to take the best care possible of our clients. It is incredibly rewarding when you feel like you’ve made a difference in someone’s life, and that extends to both caregivers and clients. San Francisco is so diverse and that’s what we need in home care. We serve and cater to people of all walks of life, diverse cultures and races. Our Care Indeed community really is a melting pot.

What do you enjoy about your work?
I have the privilege to meet so many people and to hear their stories and life experiences. When I do an initial home visit with a client and see their situation, and then after a few months can immediately see how we’ve made a difference, that’s what I truly love. We are bringing in people to their homes who take quality care of our clients and make their lives so much more meaningful.
