MUNI GOAL RUSH LAUNCHES CITYWIDE CHALLENGE CONNECTING SOCCER FANS, NEIGHBORHOODS, AND LOCAL BUSINESSES ACROSS SAN FRANCISCO TO EARN PRIZES
SF Chamber & SFMTA join forces to create a transit-powered adventure that helps locals and visitors explore San Francisco’s iconic neighborhoods during this summer’s major soccer tournament.
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 4, 2026 — Today, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce (SFCC) and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) announced Muni Goal Rush, a citywide fan zone crawl running from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The program celebrates the international soccer tournament coming to cities across North America, including the San Francisco Bay Area, this summer.
With six fan zones across 11 districts, Muni Goal Rush offers locals and visitors a fun-filled, interactive way to discover new neighborhoods, support local shops, restaurants, and bars, win weekly grand prize packages, and take part in the excitement of this global event.
“The World Cup is coming to San Francisco, and we’re excited to welcome fans from across the globe to experience the neighborhoods and small businesses that make our city special,” said Mayor Lurie. “From Chinatown to the Sunset, Muni Goal Rush will help residents and visitors explore San Francisco’s neighborhoods, ride public transit, and support our small businesses.”
Created in collaboration between the SF Chamber and SFMTA, Muni Goal Rush connects fans by bus, cable car, light rail, or streetcar to 102 local businesses across San Francisco neighborhoods, including Castro, Chinatown, Dogpatch, Excelsior, Fisherman’s Wharf, Inner Sunset, Kezar, Mission Rock, North Beach, PIER 39, and Upper Haight.
“The World Cup is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for San Francisco to come together and show the world who we are,” said Rodney Fong, President & CEO of the SF Chamber. “Through Muni Goal Rush, we are proud to partner with SFMTA, our sponsors, and neighborhood businesses to help people explore the city, meet new people, ride transit, support local businesses, and experience the connection and shared excitement that global events bring out in all of us.”
As one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, San Francisco is a prime location for locals and visitors to come together to celebrate this momentous occasion. With Muni serving as the connecting thread between neighborhoods and communities, local businesses will feel real economic impact with support from the SF Chamber and its partners.
“We’re thrilled to team up with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce on this interactive way for people to explore the city during World Cup festivities,” said Julie Kirschbaum, SFMTA Director of Transportation. “Transit agencies across the Bay Area are ready to kick off the fun and help everyone get where they need to go. By bus, light rail, cable car, or streetcar, Muni is a reliable and affordable way to get to every fan zone.”
Muni Goal Rush is made possible through the support of key sponsors, including Wells Fargo, Segal Communications, Southwest Airlines, and the San Francisco Association of Realtors, as well as contributing partners Alaska Airlines, Clear Channel Outdoor, KRON4, Make It Mariko, and Yerba Buena Drink Company.
The program also receives essential support from community partners, including Bay FC, Castro Merchants Association, Chinatown Merchants United Association of San Francisco, CLECHA, Dogpatch Neighborhood Association, Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District, Golden State Warriors, Oakland Roots & Oakland Soul, and PIER 39.
