CSU Chancellor White Talks California Higher-Ed

California State University (CSU) Chancellor Timothy White discussed the state of California’s higher-education system at a lunch hosted by the Chamber and the Bay Area Council. The Chancellor talked about how to better serve underrepresented populations, how to address the current skills gap in the workforce and the need to continue developing public-private partnerships. “Public-private partnerships allow us to preserve the public nature of CSU—low cost, high-quality and easily accessible,” said Chancellor White. “They are the essential fuel that moves us forward in creating the facilities and opportunities necessary to strengthen the fabric of California’s future.” The Chamber continues to work with the higher-education community and the San Francisco Unified School District in support of Common Core standards, job and internship programs such as Summer Jobs+ and other programs designed to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce. Read more.
