S.F. Public Schools Honored for Educational Excellence

The Chamber applauds partner San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) for its work educating the 21st century workforce. In recognition, 39 SFUSD schools were included on the just-announced California Business for Education Excellence’s 2013 Honor Roll. The Honor Roll includes public elementary, middle and high schools recognized for demonstrating consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps.  For high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness. “Education and skills are the keys to both individual prosperity and economic vitality in San Francisco,” said Bob Linscheid, Chamber President & CEO and Chairman of the Board of the California State University Board of Trustees. “The Chamber applauds Superintendent Richard Carranza and the San Francisco Unified School District for its outstanding success in helping to raise student academic achievement in schools across San Francisco.” Read more.
