Join us in Celebrating Small Business Saturday! #ShopSmall

In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses with their most pressing need – getting more customers. The day encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving – this year, November 29.

The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to partner with other local organizations including SF Travel, Women Impacting Public Policy, the Office of Small Business, and the Office of Economic and Workforce Development in promoting Small Business Saturday in San Francisco.Biz Button

This year the celebration is bigger than ever with communities around San Francisco stepping up to celebrate! Here are some of the events:

  • Small Business Saturday Night in the Upper Fillmore Neighborhood

Join American Express OPEN and the Fillmore Merchants Association in a celebration of shopping small. Between 6:30 pm and 10 pm visit Upper Fillmore and pick up your very own Small Business Saturday Night Fillmore Passport for a chance to win a variety of prizes and take advantage of exclusive offers from a number of boutique stores. To learn more, see participating stores and restaurants, and learn where to see the kick-off Fashion Learn more.

  •  Main Street Makeover in Hayes Valley

For the first time, American Express OPEN is teaming up with designer Kathryn Ireland in San Francisco to give Hayes Street a main street refresh. Working closely with the local community, the makeover will embrace an overarching visual theme that represents the neighborhood’s history and personality. Head down to Hayes Street starting at 9:00 am on the 29th to kick off the holiday season in style!

  • Etsy Trunk Show on ValenciaOpen for business

With the goal of bringing local artisans to the community, Little Paper Planes in the Mission District will be hosting an Etsy Trunk show highlighting three local designers: Julia Szendrei, Kristin Renner, and Maker & Mineral. Each designer will be showcasing new collections and be present to talk about their process and concept. Come by between noon and 7 pm to celebrate and support artists in San Francisco!

  • Small Business Saturday Street Art

For the second year in a row, Small Business Saturday will also be recognizing the artists that help create the neighborhood environment. This year artist Shawn Bullen will paint a mural in Noe Valley. Check out the new street art starting November 21st!

The Chamber is also thrilled to recognize the following Chamber partners participating in this year’s Small Business Saturday celebration:
