Workers Compensation –
How Much Protection is Enough?

The good news is that in the past two years the cost of worker’s compensation has become significantly more affordable for California businesses.  Although for now the cost of worker’s comp is less of a hurdle, the complexities of worker’s compensation protections and compliance still present companies with a number of challenges.

“Companies struggle to find the right worker’s compensation balance that minimizes company risk while providing employees with sufficient coverage.  The Chamber has found a way to help their members find the right balance by providing members with all that they need to know to make informed decisions, and potentially save some money in the process,” says Mariann Costello, chair/Small Business Advisory Council, and vice president/Scoma’s Restaurant.

“The Chamber is committed to delivering membership benefits that help our member companies grow their businesses,” says Leslie Milloy, vice president/marketing.  “Through the efforts of the Chamber’s Small Business Advisory Council, we are pleased to announce that the Chamber has  partnered with a trusted workers compensation expert, and local San Francisco insurance broker, to offer a unique menu of services available only to  Chamber members.”  As of January 19, Scott Hauge, CAL Insurance & Associates  began providing San Francisco Chamber members with seminars, consultation and a unique, member-exclusive menu of services to include.

1) Free safety & health, human resources & workers compensation guides on CD
2) Professional one-on-one employer review and consultation
3) Potential workers compensation cost savings

CAL Insurance was selected as the Chamber’s Workers Compensation partner because of their dedication to California small business, superior customer service, strong relationships with insurance companies, and sensitivity towards managing insurance costs for Chamber members.
